Smart Advertising

With the changing media habits of consumers marketing campaigns also have to change. This recent campaign from IBM has a lot to offer, literally. I really liked the abstract idea of doing something good for the consumers while spreading your message across. I think today’s consumer is smart and pays attention to smart efforts like these.

Today we see companies opting for more philanthropic and generous campaigns. Well it may not be because they have decided to be nice to us, but it’s surely a result of extensive competition on traditional media. Brands are looking for fresh ideas to create the “nice guy” image to get customer’s attention, and I must say for the most part its working. The Coca Cola commercial I posted earlier is another good example of this trend.
